Pelican Painting was founded by David Lucas, son and “student” of the renowned Australian 20th Century architects and designers, Bill and Ruth Lucas. David spent his early childhood in their seminal Glasshouse in Castlecrag before growing up in the creative hub of the 1970s Paddington in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. The name Pelican Painting is a nod to the stately birds found in Sydney Harbour and along Australia’s east coast.
Pelican Painting operates in the Eastern Suburbs, the city, the Inner West, the North Shore, and the Central Coast, while staying open to possibilities further afield.
