Pelican Painting was founded by David Lucas, son and “student” of the renowned Australian 20th Century architects and designers, Bill and Ruth Lucas. David spent his early childhood in their seminal Glasshouse in Castlecrag before growing up in the creative hub of 1970’s Paddington in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. The name Pelican Painting is a nod to the stately birds found in Sydney Harbour and along Australia’s east coast.
Pelican Painting is based in Bellevue Hill and operates in the Eastern Suburbs, the city, the Inner West, and Lower North Shore while staying open to possibilities further afield.
